celebrates its 60th anniversary with Special Edition. Land Rover is marking their 60th Anniversary with a special edition of the Defender. The Defender SVX was unveiled last night at the British Red Cross Ball, where Land Rover donated the world's first model to be auctioned.

 Land Rover's connection to the British Red Cross dates back to 1954 when they supplied a vehicle to the charity for use as a mobile dispensary in Dubai. The Special edition Defender SVX will be available in both 90 soft top and 90 station wagon versions, distinguished by unique silver SVX badges against metallic black paintwork and satin black graphic details. New features include 'diamond-turned' five-spoke alloy wheels and clear LED rear lights. Only 200 of the SVX will be made available in the UK - 140 two-seater soft tops, and 60 of the four-seat station wagons. Prices are yet to be announced, but deliveries of the soft top version will begin early summer 2008.
